Management Team

With more than 125 years combined experience in the convenience store industry, the MACS leadership team is comprised of some of the best talent in the category.  Members of our leadership team have held previous key roles at convenience store giants like 7-Eleven, Giant Eagle and BP/Amoco before joining the MACS team to position the country’s largest ExxonMobil consortium for expansive growth.


Dan Pastor – CEO


Dan joined the Mid-Atlantic Convenience Stores team as Chief Executive Officer in April 2011.  Dan brings more than 20 years of experience in the fuel, convenience and grocery store industries to provide strong strategic direction to MACS.  He previously held positions with Giant Eagle, Crossroads Convenience, LLC and the Guttman Oil Company.  He has served on various industry boards and committees, including NACS, Kraft, and most recently, as the chair of the Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association and the Pennsylvania Convenience Store Council.  

 

Don Bassell – CFO


Don was appointed to the Mid-Atlantic Convenience Stores'  Executive Leadership Team as Chief Financial Officer in 2010.  For the previous 7 years, Don served as the CFO of GPM Investments, LLC, which operates under the brand names of Fas Mart and Shore Stop.  With over 25 years experience in the convenience store industry, Don has held various accounting, treasury and MIS positions with Mobil, Amoco and Tenneco.  

 

Lynn Lambrecht – SVP of Human Resources


Lynn joined the Mid-Atlantic Convenience Stores team as Senior Vice President of Human Resources in 2011. She brings over 20 years of experience as a strategic HR Leader with deep expertise in retail including the convenience, supermarket and apparel industries. Lynn’s focus is to drive organizational performance by investing in and leveraging the collective talent of the team to deliver results. Prior to joining the MACS team, she previously held leadership positions with Giant Eagle, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Kohl’s Department Stores and was instrumental in helping to build the success of these high growth companies. Lynn oversees all aspects of Human Resources for the company.

 

Chad Lusk – CSO


Chad Lusk is our Chief Strategy Officer. In his role, Chad manages the execution and performance of our overall strategic business plans, quantitative analysis, and business performance. Chad is an excellent strategist and his knowledge of the industry is helping us achieve our goal of becoming a word-class company. He most recently served as the Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, a global management consulting firm. At McKinsey & Company, Chad was a leader in the travel, transportation and logistics division with a focus on operations, customer experience, and fleet management. Prior to McKinsey & Company, he was the Sourcing Specialist for ExxonMobil Global Services Company. He graduated from the University of Virginia and earned his MBA at the University of Chicago.  

 

Derek Gaskins – SVP Marketing & Merchandising - CMO


Derek joined the Mid-Atlantic Convenience Stores team as SVP Marketing & Merchandising – Chief Marketing Officer in September 2011. He brings over 15 years of retail experience in the fuel, convenience, and grocery industries. Previously, Derek was Vice President of marketing for NACS, and still serves on the Marketing and Communications (MarComm) committee. Prior to NACS he directed the marketing for Giant Eagle supermarkets and GetGo convenience stores. He was instrumental in the brand and strategy development of GetGo, fuelperks!, Market District, and Giant Eagle Express stores. He also provided marketing leadership for beer, wine, spirits, video, and center store grocery categories. His other prior experiences include brand management with Procter & Gamble (P&G), sales with Nabisco/Kraft, and fixed income and equity trading with Goldman Sachs.  

 

Neil McCarthy – Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer


Neil McCarthy is our Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. He is responsible for IT Strategy development, deployment and support of technology solutions to the business. Neil has been a CIO for the last 10 years and recently served as CIO at Wawa, Inc. where he spent 25 years in various roles. He is a graduate of Rutgers University where he earned a degree in Computer Science/Business Administration and has an MBA from LaSalle University.  

 

Tom Terry – General Counsel


Tom Terry is our General Counsel. He comes to us with an impressive background as a Magna cum Laude graduate from Notre Dame Law School. In addition, during his career Tom has worked with prestigious law firms, such as LeClair Ryan and Hunton and Williams. Tom has a tremendous amount of experience in our industry where he has worked with Fas Mart /GPM Investments since 1998 as General Counsel. In his role Tom provides senior management with effective advice on company strategies and their implementation, manages our legal function, and obtains and oversees the work of outside counsel, when needed.  

 

Brad Williams – Senior Vice President of Store Operations


Brad joined the Mid-Atlantic Convenience Stores’ executive leadership team as Senior Vice President of Store Operations in March 2012.  Brad brings more than 20 years of proven leadership experience within the petroleum, foodservice and convenience store industries.  At MACS, he oversees and fosters growth across our entire retail portfolio including all store operations, loss prevention, safety, risk management, maintenance, store planning and facilities.  Prior to joining MACS, Brad was Senior Vice President of Operations for The Pantry, Inc., where he was responsible for store operations, facilities and corporate operations support.  Prior to joining The Pantry, he held numerous operational, merchandising and marketing positions at E-Z Serve Convenience Stores, Inc., and ConocoPhillips.  Throughout his career, Brad has served on several councils and industry advisory boards.  Currently, he serves on the NACS/Coca-Cola Retailing Research Council.
